about

YARD SALE is a short collection of demos and outtakes by The Morning Line. All these songs have been sitting in the digital vault and were brought out and mixed or remixed this year. This is a bandcamp-only release. Some of the songs have been on our bandcamp page before, we just wanted them in one place.

Straight Lines (2004, performed by Baroz, Knupp, Shollenbarger, Smith) Straight Lines comes off the blocks sounding like something on an early Teenage Fanclub record, then eases into more of an ‘80’s indie rock sound – something you may have heard on the Homestead or Restless labels way back when.

Los Angeles (remix) (2008, Craft, Smith) (a different mix appears on the album Smoke). Los Angeles needed a remix after its initial release, and finally got one this year.

Child’s Play (2020, Smith) An early pandemic demo.

I Can’t Say (2019, Craft, Knupp, Mello, Smith) (appears on an International Pop Overthrow compilation) an outtake from the recording of the “North” album.

In Love with Your Blog (2007, Craft, Smith) Some days, you decide to write a novelty song.

Santa’s Song (remix) (2008, Craft, Smith) (a different mix appears on a Futureman compilation). Some days, you decide to write another novelty song. Another song that’s been kicking around for years, and needed a remix.

“they remind of chunkier ‘80s bands like Smith's old Homestead labelmates Big Dipper and Windbreakers. . . . Really strong record.” – Big Takeover
